on occasion if they are highly territorial. If the cat is in a normal situation and you are not constantly changing his enviroment he should be fine and normal. Spraying after being fixed and later in life happens the majority of the time when you introduce a new cat into the home, or a stray is hanging around alot outside the home and he has sight of it. oddly enough some female cats that are highly territorial will and can spray too. Just depends on the cats. Females tend to direct the spray downwards while males spray up and out. If the cat is well tempered and normal I dont think you will have a problem.

I have 2 male kittens. A 6 month old and a 3 month old. I have never had a problem with either one spraying. Even when the 3 month old came into the house my older one didn't do anything. My 6 month old was fixed last week and still no spraying. It depends on how the cat is. If the cat is territorial then yes chances are he will spray. Good Luck.

Males will not spray as long as they were 1) properly weaned from the mother cat (stayed with the mother for at least 6 weeks) and 2) they are neutered before they mature (usually before 11 months).

In some cases, if they are neutered after their first sprays, they will stop, but it's a risk.

They can. It depends on if it's become their habit. I have a male cat who was neutered and sprayed his entire life. My other neutered male does not. The one who sprayed was originally an outside cat, so I'm sure he marked everything he could, and that was just something that he did when he was brought inside. Luckily, he felt the need to mark only one thing, so it wasn't that bad.

We ALWAYS had male cats (didn't want little baby kittens!) and they never sprayed... but I've heard it can happen.

I'd take a male over a female cat/dog any day of the week! Less Maintenance! lol

Usually they don't. It depends on WHEN they were fixed. If they are fixed before 8 or 9 months, they won't spray. I have 2 male cats, who were fixed at 8 months, they don't spray at all.

The ideal age is 6-8 months to be fixed, I was pushing it...Good luck!

Some do and some dont. I've had 4-5 males cats and they never sprayed.

If spraying had become a habit, yes, it can happen. But I had my male kitten fixed when he was 6 months old, and have never had a problem with him marking territory.

some do, but if you keep their litter box very clean and keep the cat up to date with visits to the vet and make sure he has no urinary tract infections, you will have no problems, Mine is 12 and neutered and he does not spray.

that is not true. I had a cat that was neutered for 13yrs. and he never sprayed on anything.
