It seems everytime I turn around something from the past jumps out of nowhere. I own my home and have made my payments on time for two years, since I have owned it. I need a loan but no one seems to want to help. Is there anywhere I can go to get help?

There are some options. First, I would suggest that you take a look at your buying patterns and your overall situation. Check out www.hummingbirdcreditcounseling.com. Take their first bankruptcy training (even though you are not going to file bankruptcy). Use an annonymous name and it's free. This will give you all your options, and the pros and cons of each option. This organization does not loan money, is non-profit & is not owned or subsuduzed by credit card companies.

If you are persistent regarding taking care of your debts, your credit will gradually improve. After paying off all of my debts, I waited about a year, then called some of the companies I had a "ding" with. I explained that I messed up, but emphasized that I paid the debt in full. Then, I aksed to have the negative information removed. I requested to speak with someone who could make such a decision. I found that most of the companies were cooperative in this area.

Have you checked your credit report? Dispute any late payments on there and see if that will help improve your score and help you get a loan. Make sure your mortgage company is reporting you timely payments also.
