Because Christianity does not most closely relate to their personal experiences of Truth and thus they have turned to another religion (atleast that's why I decided after searching and exploring various religions that I came to choose Hinduism as the one I practice and based on what my other friends who are Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Pagan, etc it seems to be the same......although not all of them explored all the religions, just ones they could find information on at the time or ones that they knew others who practiced...but I think applies). Do I think people who aren't Christians are evil? No, no more than those who are Christians.
But this all my own humble opinion. Great question!
Peace be with you.

Most of the world is non-Christian beacuse initually the Romans spread it as a way of controlling their empire. In the east this was over-thrown by the other main Jewish offspring, Islam. However, luckilly for Christianity Westen Europe went on a concuring spree and took Christianity with it. As they went they ether massicered or converted by the sword. In many places it was deemed better to leave well alone, so India, Indo-china, China, Japan, North Africa etc were left to stay with their own religions instead of having a forigon one forced on them.
As for atheists, humanists and pagans, are they evil? Only if you think that it is evil to think for one's self and live by what your heart tells you.

I was raised christian, and we were taught the only way to Heaven is to become a Christian. But in doing so, they were also inadvertently telling us that if you were not christian you are going to hell. Being in other faiths meant that you were worshipping false idols or false gods. therefore...maybe not evil, but just very misguided(and of course in the need of "saving") it would be a sin to even let a "hethen" into our house or accept any information on other religions.
Of course when I grew up, let's just say, my perspective has totally changed and I am a better person for it.
*To each his own...they should teach tolerance and understanding instead of fear and segregation. Of course not all Christian churches teach the same way.
By the way, you can find evil people in every religion, but that says nothing about their religion..

I'll bet you that most Christians don't think that anyone outside their religion is evil per se, but rather, being guided by their devil - which is utter hooey.
But hey, they have freedom to religion just like everyone else - that is until they decided to go against the Constitution and start making this a Christian Nation. Hello Dark Ages!

Hindus, Buddhists and Taoists are so peaceful, how could they be evil? Jews and Muslims (at least in the Middle East) can be violent and strict.

I don't know what the percentages are, but if you're saying that the are less Christians than the total sum of all other faiths . . . I would say you're probably right, but Christianity is growing faster than any other faith. I have to accredit it to the fact that Christian represent Christ's love . . . no better love.

Short answer? No.
Long answer, it depends on what you consider as 'evil' I would assume you are speaking on a christian sense and therefore I urge you to bare in mind that regardless of what they believe they are still people and that the final judgement in regard to them is up to God and not people. Therefore as a person it would be our job to follow the teachings of Jesus and the Bible and attempt to help them, rather then view them as something on par with Satan.
