I believe they do a swab test to test for that. They should check for it automatically when you go for your pap tests. You dont have to wait a year to get one done. You can go and get it done whenever, it is a good idea to get one done after you are with a new partner. I get one every 6 months to monitor my cells. Hope this helps. umm I don't believe so. I believe you have to have culture done to detect bacterial vaginosis. And if it is bacterial, the doctor can give you meds to get rid of it.

I don't know. but your question made me laugh.

they might be able to infer that you have BV. based on high white blood cell counts or something like that. Ask your doctor.
