if you are a strong couple and respect and trust each other you can get through a long distance relationship. we have just celebrated 22 years of marriage. we met at 16/17 and married when 23/25. during our first year we saw each other 2 - 3 times a week then for the next 4 years we saw each other once every 2 - 3 months. i then moved in with him and he worked away off and on for the next 4 years. since then it has only being occassional.

we both went out with other people but always told each other and the other people involved. it always pays to be honest. now at 45 i think we did the right thing. we allowed each other to grow and then grew together.

good luck.

Im in a long dist at the momet and i find it really hard. We see each other once every three months for a week and its bliss when it comes around.

Im trying to work out at the moment whether or not I can hack this for 2 years. I love him but this is so hard. Plus other guys make it known to me that they like me and I find the temptation too much to take.

I am sticking with it for the moment as I think we will end up together but I hate not knowing. I actually think it would be better if we were married, that way I would have more of an idea that we had a future together...Im struggling!

yes but both parties require human contact and you need to keep the relationship open and not put demands on each other. You both need to know you can love each other and still have seperate lives.

congratulations on the success of your relationship. but realistically, i think the odds of a long distance relationship working as well as yours did are slim because most of the time, out of sight means out of mind.

Thats not what marriage is about...if you have other relationships while married its a sham...neither of you can care about each other if screwing someone else is not affecting your relationship.
