my surround receiver has only one left and right rear channel and i need to keep ohms between 6 and 16 ohms per channel

This is called connecting your speakers in parallel. The resulting impedance will be 3 ohms.

Connect them in series: neg of one to pos of the other. The remaining pos/neg to your amp. The result will be 12 ohms, just right for your amp.
