When I was in Covenant Players (a Christian Drama Ministry) I tithed at first to the church I had been in but when I wasn't really attending there it made no sense to tithe there, so I tithed back into the ministry and then when God drew me out of Covenant Players I started giving to the church I was attending and even though I've switched churches I still tithe the church I'm attending.

I am not a Baptist, but I know that the principle of tithing is a true one. My husband and I have disagreed on this for a long time, but every time we are paying our tithing consistently, we can pay all of our bills and have a little left over. When we are not paying our tithing, we can't make ends meet. Coincidence? Not to me! Also, tithing is giving back to the Lord part of the many blessings he gives you. If you believe that your "old" church is using this money for the Lord's work, then there is no problem with you tithing to them.

I feel that your continued tithing to your past church is commendable. Good for you. In an answer to your ?, I feel that once you, if you, become a member of your new church, your tithe should also transfer. But, all in all, your tithe is a personal sacrifice to your loving father, and IMO, doesn't matter at this point which church it goes to because ultimately, is being used toward the spreading of the gospel. Keep the faith, stay strong, and continue to serve the one you love.

Pray about that. In the Old Testament, the base tithe was 10%. In the New Testament, we are told that God loves a cheerful giver. If you do not feel attached to the church you are attending, look around for another church.

i think if you want to give a gift to your old churchh that would be fine ,but the tithe belongs in the churc you are attending as contributing to the maintenance and help in paying the bills of that church, this is the church you belong to and should be committed to i know its hard to adapt to a new place ,but i think once you start tithing there you will feel more a part of it

A church with 14,000 members doesn't need a tithe. The smaller church is more deserving.
In any case, your money would be better put going to a chaity. Try Greenpeace or Amnesty International.

I go to different churches and tithe to all of them, So I see nothing wrong with what you're doing. So my advice is to you: Do what you feel is right.

Go to a place where you personally and honestly feel most spiritual uplift. Only you yourself knows. It doesn't matter 14,000 or 40 members.
Tithe is a very good deeds to do and eventually it benefit you more than anywhere and anything else.

I think we are to tithe where you are being fed the word and ministered to. It's probably taking you some time to adjust to the new place...God bless...in Jax.

As long as you tithe, it doesn't matter which one it goes to.
