All the people out there that wear shoes in their homes...Shame On You!!!
It is so disgusting, gross and utterly nasty.
Even if it's dry outside and your shoes aren't wet it doesn't mean you're not bringing in all the bacteria and nasty germs into your home. Now imagine your babies and kids playing on the same floor. How can you even be walking barefoot on those dirty floors/carpets? Ewwww!! You might as well be walking barefoot outside on the sidewalk all the time. Why even bother putting on shoes then?!
I don't think it's rude to ask your guests to take off their shoes as long as you ask nicely. Because it is called being polite and courteous. After all it's your home and these should be your rules.
Shoes should be taken off right after you enter your home and before going any further than the threshold. Get shoe racks/stands!

We do wear shoes in our home. My brother is a Dr. and he tells horror stories of accidents that happen because people and children were barefoot, in stocking feet, or wearing slippers when... That way I'm also ready whenever the garbage needs to go out; I have to run to the garage; or I need to go out to the car.
We also have hardwood floors, so we don't worry about carpeting. Our guests generally leave their shoes on. When we answer our doors we usually have shoes on.

I allow and am allowed to wear shoes in my home---except in rooms with really nice carpet. I usually don't for comfort reasons, though. The same goes with the guests (being allowed to wear shoes).
To tell the truth, I often am barefoot when I answer the door. It's just so comfortable to be barefoot in the house.

Very rarely do I wear shoes inside. I hate when guests come over and do not take them off, especially during the snowing months. I think it is rude to keep shoes on as a quest in someone elses home.

I do not like shoes worn in the home during the winter. I walk around the house in just socks and I don't feel like stepping in little puddles caused by snow. If I am having guests over and there is snow on the ground I ask them to remove their shoes. If it is summer time then shoes can be worn.

Most of the time we do not wear shoes inside. Guests can wear shoes if they want, I do not really care. Most of the time I am in my pluto slippers or bare feet.

no i dont wear shoes inside the home. either i have socks or slippers on. when you walk into my house, i have a shoe stand by the entry and guests usually take off their shoes when they walk in for respect purposes. some guests won't take their shoes off, but it is rude to ask them to so i just don't bother bringing it up.

I don't wear shoes inside our home. I usually wear slippers as the floor is cold. If it isn't raining or snowing outside and guests come I don't see why they would have to take off their shoes if they are clean. If you would like them to remove their shoes simply ask.

I never ever wear shoes inside my home. It is a strict rule in my house that everyone takes off their shoes before coming in the house. My family all take off their shoes before coming in the house. The kids are especially good about it. Whenever they have friends come over they will tell them "hi, take your shoes off on the porch before you come in its my mom's rule." My kids usually answer the door in their white socks or barefoot. Most of their regular friends know about the rule so there is no disscussion they just take off their shoes and come on in. There have been times that there are like 20 pairs of kids shoes just outside my door.
When adult guests come to the house many that visit know I am a no shoes person. They will just add their shoes to the pile and come in. For guests that come for the first time many will see the pile and ask "is this a shoes off house." I always say "yes it is, feel free to add your shoes to the pile and come on in." There are a few people who do not pick up on these clues. I always answer the door and I usually wear white socks. Some people who don't pick up on my stocking feet and the pile of shoes I just say "Oh, I should have told you we are no shoes house just take off your shoes and come on in."
Many people that visit have commented on the shoes off rule that they liked it so much. I know have several people converted to shoes off homes themselves and they do not allow people to wear shoes in their house either.
