It can sometimes take up to a month for the body to adjust to a higher fibre intake. You probably have alot of stuff to clean out of your bowel if you weren't a big fibre eater, so your body has that to contend with. Until then, make sure you drink alot of water, which helps the cleansing process and will make your whole system run smoother. But don't get discouraged and stop eating extra fibre...it so good for you.

If you mean you're having more bowel movements, then thats a god thing. It keeps you cleaned out which is the ultimate goal. If you are having more bowel movement problems, check with your doctor, and head off a problem before it gets out of control. There is such a thing as too much fiber.

That's what fiber does. The more fiber you eat, the firmer your bowel will be. It's just the fact of it. Try gradually introducing more fiber into your diet. It will help your system adjust to the added levels and won't be so uncomfortable. Also, drink plenty of water, at the very minimum eight 8oz glasses a day.

because fiber aids in digestion. the more fiber you take, peristaltic movement in your intestines will be stimulated more, causing more frequent bowels. but if you're not drinking adequate amounts of fluids, it could cause constipation.
