Should i got to see a doctor, i took claritin d last night around 8pm?

I could not go to sleep to save my life. My heart beats get fast then slow, i feel weak a little dizzy, not sure if it from the medicine or from no sleep, my friend told me it looked like i have been on a cocaine beige, im thinking thats not good, i feel awful a little sick to my stomach as well. I tryed eating but just cant seem to want to eat at all. Whta should i do?

No family doctor should i just go to er?

Sounds like you experienced some of the possible side effects of claritin....stop taking it the feeling of having your heart race is called syncope and can be very life threatening. Consult a doctor as the packaging likely describes for these symptoms and for your insomnia. good luck

Claritin is usually non-drowsy, and won't put you to sleep.

Norepinepherine, the antihistimine in Benadryl and most sleeping pills, is the one that will put you out.

People do take both Benadryl and Claritin for allergies, but they work in different ways. Benadryl (if you have enough of it) will put you to sleep.

Benadryl and sleeping pills have the same chemical (norepinepherine), often in the same dosage, just selling at different prices.

Claritin, though, won't put you to sleep.

Decongestants and antihistamines can cause the side effects you describe. I don't think you need to see a doctor. You'll feel better in a few hours when the medication goes through your system.

I usually avoid them unless I'm on my deathbed though.
