....especially after divorce?

My BF and I broke up because he said that he felt he SHOULD be falling in love with me by now, and he wasn't. We have ONLY been dating for 5 months, but I fell fast for him. (When I first got to know him about 5 mos earlier I didn't know he was going through a divorce). He admitted that he shouldn't have dated anyone so fast after his divorce, and wants us to still be friends.

I would have waited for him to fall in love, but he didn't give me the chance. I didn't expect him to fall in love this fast. I'm a little older and have been single for 8 years, so I knew what I was looking for. He was divorced about 2 mos before we started dating, and she had cheated. I truly believe God brought us together. He is a wonderful man and I appreciate his honesty. We plan to still do things together, mostly with mutual friends and church. Is it foolish to wait?

By the way, I KNOW it is different for everyone. I just want to hear what people have to say!

The time that a man falls in lust can be measured in milliseconds. Just ask any stripper. The time it takes him to fall in love.... much longer. Love is something that is based on mutual respect and desire borne out of a commitment to a person. That can take quite a long time... maybe years.

for me it depends on the girl.....i can fall fast if i really like her, or not at all if i'm just having fun. sometimes people don't completly match.....you may have loved your man like crazy, but for whatever reason he just didn't feel the same about you. this is life, otherwise we would all still be with our first boyfriend /girlfriend

You'll fall in love with someone when you become a teenagers, but for me I fall in love with someone when I was 16 but pretend not to fall in love so I could get her to know me more better.

Too much pressure, too fast. He was probably on an even keel for a while and has just fallen back into the black hole again

WELL,IN THE BIBLE IT SAYS YOU SHOULD NOT WAIT ON NO MAN,BUT WHAT YOU FEEL IN YOUR HEART IS WHAT REALLY MATTERS.IF HE IS BACKING AWAY FROM YOU BECAUSE LIKE YOU SAID HIS WIFE CHEATED ON HIM,AND HE IS GETTING CLOSER TO YOU THAN YOU THINK,RIGHT NOW HE IS SCARED,SO GIVE HIM HIS SPACE,AND CONTINUE BEING WHO YOU ARE,AND HE WILL SEE YOU ARE DIFFERENT THAN HIS EX-WIFE.
