So I have always wondered this and maybe you can help me get a better idea of what girls think because my friend and I have a little bet going on about this topic. So this question is mainly targeted towards women.
So, assuming a guy was in shape, decent pecks, fairly tan, would you prefer your man to be 100% smooth on the chest because you think it looks more sexy or would you prefer him not to get rid of the hair because maybe you like the chest hair?

You know...it would definitely depend on what the woman thinks is sexy...some girls like more boyish and/or younger looking men, so they would like a smooth chest...other girls like older and/or manlier men, so hairier chests are symbols of that. Of course, there are girls who like both types of men as well. Though all girls agree that a extremely hairy chest is just gross:P.
So you would think that the girl population is split 50/50 with this, but it isnt. At least not now...Today's society focuses more on wilder, older, and more exotic people. Hairier, manlier men fit this category more than innocent, angelic men lol. It's sort of like the whole Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie thing. Though both sides were definitely heard, the wilder exotic Angelina side won.
As for me... when I was younger I didn't like hairy men, because I liked boys...and boys arent hairy. As i got older, I liked men, and boys who looked like men, so now I like hairy men;).

Until recently, I've always LOVED a smooth chest and didn't like hair. For some reason (I guess my taste has changed) I now prefer the manly hair.

If your chest hair is reminiscient of Austin Powers, then get rid of at least most of it. As long as it doesn't have alot of length, chest hair is sexy. It looks more manly...completely waxed chests end up looking either pretentious our boyish, both of which are a turnoff. Look at Matthew Mcanaughy (not spelled right, I know)...he has a beautiful body, but his chest is completely waxed, and it just detracts. Don't make the same mistake.

I prefer the guys with NO chest hair, as do most of my friends.

When I was in high school, I thought chest hair was completely disgusting. Then in college I met my husband who has chest hair (but doesn't look like a gorilla either). Now I find it very sexy. I love my burly man. :)

i prefer very little chest hair or smooth, just because i don't find gorilla-like chests very attractive. but a little bit is sexy, as is a completely smooth chest.

Some chest hair works for me! But if you are talking about the love carpet, no thanks. Speaking of male hair I would just like to point out that hair on shoulders and back just dont work for me, such a turn off.

Ewwwwwwww! Chest hair is so gross ! Whether you are in shape or not , all guys should get rid of their chest hair !
