cockateils don't talk but they will mimic your whistles. just be repetitive with your whistle. start with a woof whistle (the whistle you do at pretty girls) and do it over and over daily until he starts doing it back. eventually you can teach him other tunes.

There is a record that you can get at the library, that teaches you how to teach a bird to talk. Play this when you are not at home, and they will learn all of these words. It's a hoot!

well for the most part if you want to teach em a word you must repeat it over and over until they can get the right pitch and tune and whatnot...yes you can teach em words...they say that you can have their, not sure what they call the part that connects their tongue to the bottom of the mouth, cut and makes it easier for them to say things as you teach them...find out from a vet or pet store more on the subject though....takes a lot of patience!!!

You must have his trust. Then begin to say words or a few word phrase. This takes patience. They will also sing a few notes and do tricks.

sit and talk with him/her and everytime he speaks REWARD him/her with a treat that they really like....
