I have been on a diet / healthy eating plan for 3 weeks now. Im not going silly - just cutting out crisps chocolate and fried foods. And eating 5 portions of fruit n veg per day. Drinking 8 glasses of water and having fish 3 times a week. I don't naturally eat a lot of potatoes or pasta and so I have kept this the same.

I just feel really bloated all of the time and my clothes are getting tighter - not looser !!!

Could it be water retention ? and if so what can be done about this. I don't want to reduce my water intake as it is important to consume that much water.

Please help - Im starting too feel like a balloon !

Any change to your normal is going to effect your body in some way as it is not used to it.
It could be water retention but usually when starting dieting you tend to wee more as you loose fluid first.
It could be all the fruit/veg that you have not been used to bulking you up are you going to the toilet properly.
It may be because you need to also start excersising along with your diet and because you are doing the same old thing and just changed diet could be another reason you feel bloated and clothes are getting tight.
Your metabolic rate may have slowed down as it is getting used to this new diet and needs a kick start like excersise.
I too cut out all fried food/chocolate/cakes and buscuits three weeks ago and started eating three meals a day as I used to not eat all day and pig out in the evening. I too felt bloated for a while until I started to put some excersise in to the picture.
Go to your doctor first and have a check up to make sure you are ok and ask her/his advise.
Good luck you are not on your own.

It could be water retention. 8 8oz glasses is the minimum you should drink. Try drinking more to help flush your kidneys and bladder. Also, look into a quality multi-vitamin (such as GNC's Women's Ultra Mega, although your pee will look like a highlighter). You might be eating healthy foods, but you still may not be getting ALL the vitamins and nutrients you need that are essential for helping your organs work properly. If the bloating feeling persists for an extended period of time, consider visiting your doctor to rule anything else out. Best of luck.

It could be water retention. Try adding green tea to your diet or eat fruits in the melon family. Both of these are natural diuretics. And good for you! Continued luck! ♥

Vegetables can cause bloating. Especially if raw. How big are the glasses of water you are drinking? You may be overdoing it. But, I don't know your age and if you have any preexisting conditions that could contribute to the water retention. Maybe you should consult with your doctor.

If there's a extensive volume of fluid, the exterior could be tight and it's going to likely be comfortable. the different concern i could have is that it particularly is the explanation for the oedema is in charge for the discomfort. you're saying ft, so clot isn't likely. Are there any purple aspects suggesting cellulitis or maybe erythema nodosum? there are particularly some concepts so i advise going to work out your GP.

To get rid of water retension, users of the detoxifier essies tea testify that they do not retain that much water while drinking lots of it. I know that cancer patients that is on chemotherapy and radiation retain lots of water, and as soon as they start taking essies tea, reduces water retension to up to 5 times less. Maybe worth to try it and at the same time clean your body.
