What you have said is true. Idolatry is against the Bible, but they tend to do it because is the tradition of their religion, they say that they don't workship the images, that they only use them in order to remember the persons that they represent.

The Catholic Church is the first church. Martin Luther agreed with you and that's what started the Great Schism. The idol worship, the worship of Mary, the "worship" of the Saints, these are holdovers from the pagan religions that the early Church surplanted. They forced the people into church but they couldn't force the old beliefs out of them. The people did it the way they always did it. Some of the wiser bishops went along hoping to ease the populations out of it but then it became a part of Catholicism. People have responded rather venomously to your question, its really not a matter of faith, just history. If you want me to, you can email me and I can give you more specifics and tell you where to find more information about the Church and its transformation in the Middle Ages.

As a Catholic I can assure you that I don't worship any idol-nor have I ever done so.
There may be more statues in a catholic church than in others but these are not there to be worshiped-they are simply reminders as representations of saints -and it is the latter we pray to.
Other than that we would have the 12 Stations of the Cross -again to remind us of Christ's road to crucifixion .
The sole difference between us and Anglicans would be that we believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation where the bread and wine are physically the body and blood of Christ and that is all.
I suggest you might like to sit in on a Catholic Mass and see how many idols the congregation worship.
You'll be a long time waiting.

ANY carved image is an idol or icon.
It is simply a no-no.
(Exodus 20:4-5) “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5Â You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me;
Even a depiction of Jesus is not acceptable.
And Isaiah 44; 13-19. About the woodcarver who uses half a piece of wood to carve a god and then uses the other half to cook his food.

I am afraid you are mistaken. There is no idol worship in Catholicism because it IS againts the Bible. The Catholic faith comiled the Bible and does not teach anything or practices anything that is contrary to the Bible, so Catholics do not worship idols.
You see statues in many old churches. They are works of art that represent holy men and women in history. We love and honor them by having statues of them. This is very similar to you honoring and loving your family by keeping pictures of them.
When we kneel down and pray in front of a stustue, we are not worshipping the statue or even the person the statue represents. We are simply asking that person to pray for us. This is the same as you asking friends or family to pray for you. catholics consider those in heaven part of our friends and family.

The bible also says not to judge. I know for a fact that you are not without sin, so what gives you the right to judge? There are many false religions. We are not to judge them, we are to pray for them. Read the bible and you won't worry about what everyone else is doing, you'll be too worried about your own soul. Thank you and may GOD bless.

There is not idol worship in the RC church. That is a misconception of those who do not understand what the symbols are there for. Do you have a picture of a loved one in your home?

Since when does organised religion care about what God wants!? Jesus went against judaism, and I'm pretty damn sure that if Jesus returns he will be against christianity.
