People who think Tattoo's are a waste of money, can keep their opinions to themselves...My son is my pride and joy and permanently putting his name on my body is the best thing anyone can do, this shows how much I love my child.

My daughter has a tatoo of my name. She also has a second tatoo, and is thinking about a third. Another son has been tattooed for years. Just one.
And a different son is pierced in about 6 or more places.

My opinions on these things were enforced as long as they lived in my home. I have no tatoos. Neither does my husband. I think about it, but keep chickening out. I like my skin the way it is. The only piercings I have are the two holes (one per ear) that I got when I was two.

Grown people will and can do whatever they want to. I don't condone anything illegal or that conflicts with my beliefs.

Tatoos are not one of them or I wouldn't have considered one of my own.

My children were all adults, working, and living in their own places when they got tatoos. did they ask while they were home, and I refused. Once they had moved out, obeying my wishes was no longer an issue.

My daughter's tattoo of my name is surrounded by small twisted vines. I think she considered hearts too. If these don't work for you, ask the tatoo artist for suggestions.

I hope this helps.

I start by looking at people's tattoos. Find someone that has some good looking ink and ask them who did their tattoo. Next you go to that persons tattoo studio and ask to see their portfolios or books. You can even ask the artist for input, they're the creative people so their opinion would count to me.

Way to go Mom, my kids are my everything so I think your idea is sweet. If you're anywhere near Miami I would go to Kat Von D at Miami Ink for a portrait of your son! She is the best, but I have no idea what she charges. If you haven't seen that tv show Miami Ink, look for it -- she is awesome!

this is just stupid. Are you scared you will forget his name? Do your son a favor and don't get the tattoo. If your lucky one day he will attend college and will be faced with the prospect of getting a tat after a long night of drinking and your decision now may affect his decsion then. Do yourself a favor and trash the idea. If you really care about him take the $100 and put it in a college fund.
