free? not gonna happen. though Imovie does have some handy features that i like such as lightning (emperor palpatine style). however on adobe.com you can download a trial version of adobe premiere, which is a very nice program. you might be able to find a free version of arcsoft showbiz which is a little nicer than WMM and it doesnt save in the annoying unusable WMM file type.

the only other free one you cant run on windows which is "imovie" all others are charged for and decently expensive.

i guess you can use virtuadub, but it requires some hit and try. but its free.
and if u want a paid program try downloading using torrents.
