ITS MINSTRELS in UK and M&Ms in USA so techanically both right
Minstrels are milk chocolate buttons with a hard glazed shell sold in the UK.
They have the slogan "They melt in your mouth, not in your hands" which is the same one used by M&Ms in the United States.
In line with Mars' rebranding, Minstrels have been repackaged and are now sold as "Galaxy Minstrels", referring to the use of Galaxy chocolate in them.

Because of the hard sugary coating, both would melt in your mouth.

I'd suggest the only way to resolve this is for your boyfriend to provide you with a packet of each to settle the argument.
