Looks like not believing in God is a safe bet.
PS being told I am going to burn in a place I don't believe exists at the behest of a being I don't believe exists doesn't exactly bother me a lot anyway... its the interfering sanctimonious hypocrite do-gooders who keep telling me that get up my nose.
I love all those answers below that say that God is just allowing Satan a little time to play before God deals with him... what??? where in the Bible does it say that? If God can deal with Satan then he could have dealt with him on Day 1... so either he can't or God is a sadist who's using Satan to harm people... great sort of God that is... it means there is no difference between God and Satan (and Satan has the best music so no contest)

If one actually looks at the bible - Satan is not the ruler of hell. This is a great misnomer. Accordering to the bible Satan is confined to earth. The Christian point of view is that he wants to make God suffer so he steals as many souls as he can.
Many churches today teach that Satan is the ruler of hell and is also the ruler of this world. This goes against what the bible teaches, especially the OT. If you look at the book of Job Satan is an adversary and even appears in heaven before God! Hell is never mentioned.
Hell is supposed to be an eternal seperation from God. The descriptions of it, especially by Jesus who compared it to physical landmarks, was to show how awful and undesirable a place it really is. In reality - no one knows what hell is like, only the metaphoric descriptions of it.
But Satan has no control over hell - that's God's gig. Which is why the condemned burn with him. Which is bothersome in and of itself.

Satan is not in control of hell--God is. This is why satan is fighting so hard to stay on Earth, when he surely knows his destiny is hell. Furthermore, don't become consumed with ignorance. Satan is anything but your friend. He hates you with the deepest passion, which is why he is doing everything possible to destroy you.
Understand that God is in complete control of satan. We are the ones who can't, or shall I say WON'T control satan's influence in our lives. Wake up, while there is still time.

ok God can control everything. including satan. by the way if you dont believe in Jesus or God then you cant believe in Satan, Satan was a angel in heaven but he turned evil so God sent him out of his presence. Satan cannot harm you unless it is God's will. for once you are are saved then you are under God's almighty protection. You can be tempted of course even Jesus was tempted but being tempted isnt a sin only giving in to that temptation is a sin. You only have 2 places to go when you die.....Heaven or Hell if you arent in Heaven then where else is there but Hell. You go there because of your wickedness that you have not repented of not because of who's side your own.
MAY GOD BLESS

So far I have only seen answers that still go with the whole "god still stop him soon" part. But I never really thought about your real question. I wouldnt mind being in satans army...you know if the whole religion thing was real.
chrisoaks also makes a good point. If god is all forgiving as people so often say. Wouldnt that mean no one would go to hell...ever...

Or possibly the reverse....ever consider that the whole Jesus thing is Satan's plan?
BTW: I don't believe that for a moment, but for those who believe that Satan is an independent agent for evil and opposed to God, and as the NT contradicts and obsoletes what everyone (judeo-christian world) accepts as God's word and law, it seems at least plausible, does it not?

satan doesn't have friends. Doesn't know or understand the concept of friendship. He HATES humanity and he hates you!
God did have control over satan. That's why satan has rule over hell. Not the world. Not heaven. Just the lowest place there is.

God has allowed Satan a certain amount of time and then it will be over for good. Satan has no friends even if you side with him. He could care less about anyone. All he cares about is taking as many as he can with him, away from God.

If you believe in the concept of heaven and hell, and good and evil, then you believe that satan is "evil". If you're evil then you don't subscribe to the notion that *the enemy of my enemy is my friend*. You just enjoy inflicting eternal pain. Usually, if you don't believe in Jesus (God?) you don't believe in Satan. But, if you believe in A God, but just not Jesus, then you don't necessarily have to believe that satan will burn you in hell. There were virtuous people and bad people before Jesus. Did they all go to Hell?
