I'll be taking a taxi from Orlando Airport to one of the Disney Resorts with my 4-year old. I think he is just under 40lb. Do I need to worry about a booster seat for him (we use one in my car)? How do I make arrangements for that? Please note - taxi will be the transportation of choice. There are no buses to this particular resort.

How far is the resort from the airport? If its a long drive i would take it. if its a short distance i wouldnt worry about it. just make sure he is buckled and in the middle , not by the doors where the straps go over their shoulders. And make sure the lap belt is not going over his tummy, and is tight. booster seats are designed to "boost" the child up so the seat belts fit properly, so if you dont have one make sure hes belted in properly. But its completely up to you wether you feel you should take one or not. It is def. safer to take one, here is a website with the florida guidlines for carseats.....

You could ask the taxi service if they offer one, they might save you the aggravation of having to take your own from home. But being that it is the law, and the safest way to have your 4 year old, you drive with him/her in one, why would you trust a complete stranger to drive your child without one. Seems like a no brain-er to me, if the taxi co. doesn't offer the booster seat as an option, I would be lugging one around an airport for my child who is also 4, how ever inconvenient it may be. Good luck, have a great time! Disney is the happiest place on earth. PS: when I took my son at the age of 7, I told him it was against the law to throw a fit or cry in Disney, so if he did, they would make him go home. He was perfect for the entire 8 days!

well here where i live any person/child under 85 pounds needs to use a booster seat. I would call the taxi services and ask if the taxi's they have available will carry a booster if not carry your own with a name and address attached if afraid to lose... Because police can be picky just because your in a cab doesn't mean its the cabdrivers fault, if a accident does occur, you are responsible for you and your child your driver just gets paid to drive. But if i were you I'd call the taxi services to make sure before getting to worried.

As a parent and pediatrician, I would check the booster seat with your luggage and use it during the trip. A taxi is no different from any other car. Accidents aren't planned and your child will be so much safer. Seat belts are not safe for children that size - can cause internal injuries. Not to mention, he'll have a much better view whenever you are riding in the cab! Enjoy your trip!!

take the seat from your car and bring it with u. You can give it to the flight attendent and they will have it for you just as you get off the plane. This way you know it's in working order and there isn't any problems with it.

We have had bad experience with Taxi's forgetting to bring the item or the seat has been altered or damaged.

I've been on vacation three times with my son and once we took the seat and twice we didn't. When we didn't the cab drivers didn't say a thing about it(Washington D.C. and L.A.). We strapped him in the back middle and my husband and I sat on either side of him. It would be safer to have the seat but it's difficult lugging it around at the parks, sightseeing etc.

I don't know. I never really ever have to use a taxi. I just wanted you to know I think this is a really, really good question. I'm very curious of the correct answer. Sorry, I'm no help though.

As a in charge ensure, my opinion is which you would be able to desire to ensure your toddlers are completely look after. I understand is somewhat uncomfortable to hold with toddlers motor vehicle seats, yet i could be greater gentle understanding my toddler is secure. or you would be able to desire to do what Michael reported, to lease or have a loaner.

I would bring a booster seat. There are really cheap ones you can buy (I found one at babiesrus.com for $15).
