Then why did he not simply create us for to be perfect for the existing environment? With his unlimited power surely he could have conceived of beings that could survive and be happy in the vacuum of space.

We were not created by god. Nor was the Earth. What we observe is what we would expect to find if we evolved to be well adapted to our environment, not the other way around as the major religions would have you believe.

So why then would god go through all the trouble to create this immense universe just for us when he could have simply created us for the existing environment?

The earth is a hostile environment that ensures 99% of species are doomed to eventual extinction- any self respecting deity would be embarassed to have designed this planet.

Well, HE DID. Adam and Eve were perfect, immortal, using 100% of their brains. And who is to say that he didn't concieve of beings that could survive and be happy in the vaccum of space? Our environment, everything on earth, is for the enjoyment of man. We have hundreds of colors, species, foods, tastes. We have various seasons, the earth works perfectly. If it were just for survival, we would have only one type of food, one species of tree...why so much variety?
It was God's will (and still is) that we humans live forever on a paradise on earth. That is what he had in mind when he created the first human. However, they both sinned against him, in essence saying that 'we humans do not need God' and since then God has let us proove it to him. We have prooved nothing except our ignorance and now, we are destroying his perfect planet. He created the immense universe because he wanted to as simple as that. Evolution does not stretch as far as the sun as I was told on this board yesterday. There is so much energy in the sun, that if you were to take a pin's head sample of it to earth, no living thing could exist within an 100 mile radius of it. How do things exist without the sun? Where does all that awsome energy comes from, and HOW DOES IT SUSTAIN ITSELF? Scientists cannot answer this. The very foundation of evolution is badly constructed, ready to collapse. How could all life on this planet exist without the sun? Also, if the earth was just an inch away from the sun, we would all freeze to death--likewise, if it were closer, we'd fry. All this is not just coincidence. There has to be an intelligent mind behind all this.
Nothing else makes sense.

You are quite mistaken if you believe the emergence of man can be explained by natural selection. It cannot.

I cannot begin to even pretend to know the mind of the creator. But I do have my own opinions.

Maybe, God put the soul or spirit or ability of self realization into an existing species already here on earth. Maybe it is his intention to see how we handle it. Maybe he expects us to be curious enough to keep learning more and more until we figure out how to return to Him. Maybe it is our destiny to leave this planet and spread out human kind all over God's universe.

If there is no creator then where did everything come from? If everything else always was and always will be, why can't there be a creator who always was and always will be?

I don't know the answer and neither do you. Neither does the smartest of scientists. About all we know is how little we know. We certainly don't know enough to begin belittling other peoples beliefs. They could be right too.

Well from your question i assume you believe in the big bang, well i can disprove the big bang very simply.

Before the 'Big Bang' there was nothing, ie: a vaccuum. For an explosion to happen there needs to be a gas and a spark and oxygen or 'air' for it to spread, therefore as before the univers it was a vaccuum of nothingness the Big Bang is an incocivable theory and i cant see how it is so widely believed.

Theres some science in the aid to prove the Existence of God!

Also did you know, there is more historical proof that Jesus existed and did the things he did than there is for Julius Ceaser, so it takes more faith the believe Julius Cesar than it does to believe that Jesus was the person the Bible said he was

I don't think it is easy being God. God wanted some people to talk to, that would listen and tell Him what they liked and didn't like about His earth. If He loved that person enough He would mend that particular part of the earth as a present for them. God wanted communication with beings that could use their mind to make decisions. He wanted to watch and see what they could create from what He created. And then He wanted them to ask Him what He thought about it. Completely different from His angel creation that was only created to serve. No where does it say that an angel can love or return love.

You don't have much experience with the Bible do you?

God's the man. He does what He wants, and He works in Mysterious Ways. If you read the Bible, you'd see that one of His best traits is that He is Fickle.

See, if you always reward good behavior and always punish Bad, then it's hard to discipline Your Peeps. But if you throw a bit of randomNess in there, Your Peeps get nervous so they follow your Word much better.

Your problem, which would be resolved if you read the Bible, is that you don't know Him. He is vast, and omnipotent, and is something you have no conception Of. Therefore, you are just Making up God to be the way You want him to be. If you knew Him personally, like the people in my Church, you wouldn't have to make up His Personality to suit your view.

wut liquid r u supposed 2 hav 8 glasses of each day? H2O couldn't have been formed by DEVILution. If the Earth wuz billions of years old, the Mississippi river delta would stretch as far as Africa. If the universe is billions of yrs old, all the comets wud hav "died" a long time ago. And for some reason, u guys believe that the Oort Cloud kicks them out at random times, yet no 1 has ever seen it

You silly thing, you. We were created to live off the earth. Unfortunately, man wasn't happy with that and had to create machines to make things easier for himself. Your theory is just about as goofy as what the scientologist claim. You will find out, along with the rest of the world that GOD is infact real. Thank you and may GOD bless.

we are the evolutionary offspring spawning from the first fusion reactions in super-nova class stars. it was not until the first stars died, that the heavy elements (such as iron and zinc) were formed, allowing more complex life forms to take root and evolve on their home planets.

being that there are billions of stars in our galaxy alone, and more galaxies in the universe than there are stars in ours, the majority of which have the ability to be part of solar systems, with multitudes of planets, each with its own odds of sustaining life, it is very possible that God does not even know we exist.

it is more likely that we are one of billions of civilizations to be swirling around in the maelstrom of space and time.

and with recent discoveries of the relations of space, time, and consciousness, it is possible that we (as intelligent as we have become) are still infants in the universe.
