It depends how ripe it was when you bought it. If it was dark and a bit squishy, then you probably only have a couple days before it goes bad. If it was firm and green, then it'll last up to a week. They ripen quicker at room temp - stick them in the refrigerator and they don't go bad quite so fast.

Not very long in my house. The minute they are ripe I eat them.

They are best stored in a cool dark place. Keeping them in the warmer, room temperature may turn them riper quicker, but they do need to be eaten straight away because there is nothing less pleasant than eating an overripe avocado pear. About a week all told.

Difficult one this.. but, after much thought, I should say it should expect to live until it's eaten. If you want to keep the poor thing alive beyond it's appointed time, just stick it in the fridge!

It depends on it's life style really. Does it drink and smoke? Does it work long hours? Is there any medical history in it's family. Does it suffer from stress. These are all factors to take into account.

Wrap them in brown paper and store in a dark cupboard. Their life expectancy is dependant on how hot it is. Here in S.A. they will last about a week in warm weather.

On the tree is different to off the tree. The best way to store them would be to leave them on the tree.
