Could I legally shoot people in self defense?

I say go for it!
Dress up as a doe and remember to use plenty of doe in heat perfume.
I promise not to shoot the buck until after you and him get to know each other better.
Let start with Bow season, then will move on to Muzzle loader season and we’ll end with Gun season.
If you make a good little decoy next year I’ll even supply you with some “Astor Glide” if you need it by then.
Come on and Cowboy up to that one.

In some states, you'd have already broken the law. You would be in little danger of being shot, though some would argue that you'd deserve it, and you'd prove to everybody who saw you that you're a fool and know nothing about deer hunting. You would have no self-defense argument at all. You really don't think people go blasting away at anything that looks like a deer, do you? Hunters tend to be picky about what deer they shoot.

No, and I honestly doubt that many people would take a shot at you, I wouldn't because there is no way you are going to resemble a deer in anything more than color. Body type and movement is completely different. However I might take a shot just because if you are that stupid you should be weeded out of the species.

no. assuming you have the mental capacity to understand WHY you are wrong, the court will rule that you took actions that are immoral and dangerous beyond reasonable doubt and that you were fully aware of the consequences of dressing up as fair game.

not to mention that a deer in a shooters crouch with a rifle in hand would spark some interest in the hunters before they take aim.

in the time of looking season particular. in case you have a rifle with then you it particularly is called poaching, if no longer it particularly is called harassment, whether diverse states have diverse rules for shining/recognizing deer right here in Michigan it particularly is criminal different than in the time of November and b/w the hours of 11 pm and six am

Yeah, sounds like the Hmong are among us!

Try it! You couldn't shoot back until shot at and I only know of VERY FEW hunters where you would have that opportunity! 1 shot...1 kill!

my motto is 1 shot 1 kill, I go deer, moose hunting here in Ontario, if you cant kill your prey in 1 shot stay home. So needless to say , no self defence story for you,

Why don't you try it but remember a deer walks on all fours and can not carry a gun

well, i really don't think people will TRY shooting at you. if it's accidental (which it almost always is), then they will come over and appologize, and probably pay you or something.

why would you even want to ATTEMPT that? chances are, you'd die. you would'nt need to shoot in self defense, and they wouldnt get charged for murder.
