Yes i have trouble with that to!
Everyone is different when it comes to your food and how it effects your performace in the ring so experiment. I will eat a lot of pasta the week up to my fights and then the day of my fights i will only eat carb bars! There great, there light, so they dont make you feel heavy. You can get them at most grocery stores the ones i eat are called CLIF BARS.
P.S. Only drink sports drinks the day of you fights because you want your body to have all the right hydration and water doesnt cut it try it i bet you feel better in the later rounds.

Depending on how many days the tournament lasts, I would just keep yourself hydrated for the most part. On the day before the first day of the tournament, have your complex carbs in the morning and afternoon, and have just a light dinner. If you're hungry or nervous the morning of the tournament, just drink water, and keep yourself hydrated. If the tournament lasts another day, don't go crazy on extra carbs after the first day of the tournament. Your body's muscle memory should help keep your body in tone for the next day. Let me know how that works for you.

protein shakes are a good way to go...chocolate milk is actually a great source of carbs...theres lots of studies out there saying how good a pre/post workout drink it is...not too much before you fight though...may end up puking on the other fighter
things to avoid? gatorade/powerade....just wastes of money and glorified coolaid
