Easiest answer for this question is to just put in a small food dish in the bird cage and let the bird feed whenever it feels hungry. Just fill it up about half full. Do make sure that you also put in some water for the bird so it doesn't get dehydrated. It is just like us, if it is a warm day or a warm room, any animal can get dehydrated just like a human can.

I don't claim to be any expert on the feeding of birds or of other animals, but I grew up with cats and dogs and my grandparents had three beautiful birds. This is what grandma had told us when we cane over and told her that the birds wer out of food.

Always leave food there for your bird to eat. Birds have very high motabalisms and need to constantly eat.

Check the food in the morning and evening to see if it needs refilled.

Always provide fresh water to drink and bathe in.

Provide fresh foods that are bird safe in the afternoon and remove what is left over in a few hours.

You make sure the cup is always full on a daily basis along with fresh water everyday. In other words, you leave seed out all the time.
