On the westside, Patsy's. They have great pasta dishes and veal dishes. The salads are truly Italian. The staff is wonderful, and, if you have theatre tickets, they get you out in plenty of time. If you are just enjoying yourself with a special someone, they don't rush you. As a plus, it's a great place to people watch...

On the eastside, Il Vagabondo. Same great food, super staff, good people watching, just like Patsy's, BUT, Il V has indoor bocce!

Babbo. Mario Batali creates the most amazing pasta. It is all homemade, none of that boxed crap other restaurants pass off to us on. The pasta will melt in your mouth. All the flavors come alive. If it is too pricey for you, go to Lupa. Still amazing and great quality of food, just a little less expensive.

Bon Appetit!

Carmine's near Times Square is the Best. Their entrees are enormous- more than enough to share. Their salads are amazing and their desserts come on the same Huge platters as the entrees. The service is top rate and the price is VERY reasonable for NYC. I could eat there every night. Last time in NYC we ate there three times in one week and had different meals each time, but always the same friendly and efficient service. The breadbasket they serve is a meal in itself.

Sambuca -- my husband is the chef there!

Besides that, the foods killer, and the atmosphere is great. Huge portions, and its not a tourist attraction...only the locals go there.
