Will two zip programs clash? Like Winzip and WinRar? ZipGenius? &-Zip? or any other combination?

I just want to try out other zip programs. I'm using the trial WinZip program right now. It would help if answerers answer according to their experiences especially those who have tried different zip programs.

it shouldn't be any problem, when you double click on a *.zip file (or an other archieve format) the last installed zip program will open it (during instalation he extensions are set to use that program) but you'll still be able to use the other programs.

Yes, there can be one than one, but, only one can be the default zip. Some programs may "Clash" with each other when both running, but, I doubt it (Not only Zip). I have a program that will not run until I close my anti-virus program, but, today this is not as common as 10 years ago. I really not see why a person need more than one zip program, but, I guess there are reasons.
Look at Web-Browsers, you can have more than one and many can run at the same time. But, if they all closed and you click a link, only one can start up as your default browser.

They will clash. Depends on which one you last set to automatically associate with certain file types. You can sometimes right click a file and it will give you the option to choose which one to use though. Winrar rocks my world. Screw the others. Just associate it with everything. Everyone I deal with in the vast world of pirating uses winrar.
