Would anyone buy a Renault Clio after seeing watchdog the other night? It's shocking that this problem is causing serious accidents, and that Renault will not even recognise that there is anything wrong!
For those that missed it, the bonnet catch is faulty and the bonnet is liable to fly up and hit the windscreen (smashing it), so that the driver can not see. This could happen on a motorway.
I don't think I'd feel comfortable buying ANY renault car now. Not after seeing their attitude to safety!!!

Dick 19532 - According to mechanics who have looked at the clio catch, it is not strong enough to hold the bonnet closed reliably. There have been over a thousand accidents caused by the faulty catch on the clio. No other make of car has this problem. Renault have stuck their head in the sand and done nothing despite the fact that people have been seriously injured as a result of the faulty catch. Do you think they should wait until somebody is killed before taking action>
