Help! I have just run the onecare.live.com scanner on an pc running XP Professional. The machine "is/was" a friends!!!! The scan revealed 333 registry errors! that it seemed to fix ok - that was till i did a restart - First off it attempted to get underway but after a load of ticking and grizzling, no screen. As the machine would not switch off either, eventually it was a pull out the power cord!!!
After a couple of attempts the machine came to life. I had planed to do a system restore but none are listed......not only this but when going into start/programes none are listed........like, i had to do a search to even find the shortcut to system restore. Oh why did i touch it?

Gee...sounds like you took out some important registry files. If you cant do a system restore then your better to do a reinstall.
