You will pay a music store by the month. The least I have seen is $15, but the quality of the instrument may also help determine the cost. Could be up to $40.

A professional oboe player may still have their old student model and be willing to strike a private deal....especially if you truly need it by the day and not by the month. I myself have rented out a flute and a piccolo, but only to people I trusted like crazy.

You seem to change your mind a lot about what instrument you want to play. Couldn't your band instructor lend you an oboe to try out? That's a lot of money for an instrument, especially after your parents just paid $100+ on your old instrument. Another option might be to buy a used one from craigslist or something similar. I would only agree if it was my child's allowance paying for the oboe. I mean, sure I'd be willing to buy one instrument. You don't like that, sure I might give you a second chance and buy another instrument. But a third one in 3/4 years? Nope. Sorry.
