Go see her parents first, you have rights too as grandparents...their views may be different to hers and maybe they can turn her around in her thinking...at least, try that option first, then get legal advice if you need to..........good luck to all of you, and please, put welfare of baby first......

Well she might not want him to have anything to do with the baby but a father has paternity rights.
If you are in the states you go to the district attorney and tell them what is going on they have paperwork that will have to be signed by him
Of course you do know that means he will have to pay child support and cover the baby under any insurance plan he might get and I doubt if he has a job yet.
She might be thinking of having an abortion or she doesn't like him enough to want to be in contact with him. So really think about this carefully and make sure if the baby is born a DNA test is done. Some gals tell guys they are the father cause they really dont' know who is and picks on the one they want make feel guilty for some sort of dark reasons.

Is your son dating this girl, or was it just a "fling" or what? Whatever the case, the mother of the unborn has her reasons. Perhaps she being pregnant and all has begun to wise up a bit and realize that she has an enormous responsibility ahead of her, and doesn't see your son in the picture when it comes to raising her child. Regardless, he does have rights, but he is just a baby himself and I doubt he has the funds to maintain child support payments. Maybe the two of them can work something out where he can at least see the child. If not, he will have to prove that he's the father and pay child support. Good Luck

Babies raising babies. I wouldn't blame mom. A young man who is 16 years old doesn't want to be a father, he just want to have sex with different girls. He is a minor and I suppose you are one, so deal with the situation on your own until he is old enough for child support payments. Remember: You cannot force a man to be a father, child support is only an economical issue, and I hope you do not have any more kids until you are emotionally mature.

That is something that should be brought to a Family Court. If they are planning on making him pay child support he has every right to see his child. Have a paternity test done on him and the baby to make sure it is his and everything should fall into place after that. He DOES have rights as the father even if he is only 16. good Luck!

See an attorney. If he's 16, then she is probably not that much older and not capable of making an informed adult decision. It's possible that he broke up with her or something and she's bitter. That's no reason to keep a father away from his child, particularly considering the age we're talking about. He has his rights, whatever her reasons.

Contact a lawyer and take the mother to court. Your son has legal rights the baby because he is the father.

was he put down as the father of the child on the brith certificate? because if she didn't then he has no legal rights to the child and she has no legal rights to come after him for money......the only way around this is to go to the courts for dna testing to determine if he is the father........but here is the thing, (and please don't get all motherly defensive about this)
what did your son do to this girl that she don't want him to have anything to do with the child??? women don't raise their child without a father unless that father is not a good influence.

Everything aside, he's the father and unless he legally gives them up she can not keep him from the baby. He needs to look for an attorney and file for visitation rights, the law states that he has those rights. Don't give up, people do it every day.

I'm sorry, I misread your question. If the mother of his child won't let him have anything to do with the baby, that is something he will have to go to court to dispute. Either for custody, joint custody, or at least visitation rights.

I'd get yourself a lawyer.

Get an attorney. Go to your local family court and petition for full or partial custody and a court ordered visitation schedule.
