man i guess just tell him that you feel like you need to find out who you are as an individual. but I must warn you...if you decide that the grass is not so green on the other side and you're done "swimming" don't be surprised if your b/f is no longer there to tread the waters with you again like before.

I think if you've thought long and hard about this-because you don't want to do anything rash or hasty since it sounds like this guy has been good to you-then you need to tell him as soon as possible. You should never, never leave someone in the dark. Innevitably, this will hurt him...unfortunately there is no way around that. But if you really do need time, then break it clean.

Good luck, be gentle.

You must decide what you want. Why isn't the relationship working? What do you feel it is lacking? The grass isn't always greener. Then, you must be upfront with him. Since, he's been honest with you, you must be the same.

If you just feel you need some time away, he may wait for you. Be careful, too, not to lead him on.

Just tell him you need a little time away from the relationship to look for other fish in the sea.

Just tell him you care about him and you love him but things have changed and you need a little break, but you still want to remain friends with him....and do it face to face...don't be a chicken and do it through text, email, phone, ect....That just isn't fair.....Good Luck!!!!

It is time when you feel that the relationship is not working. It is as simple as that. If it isn't working, it isn't working. Get out
