Well maybe they just couldn't cook lobster in a healthy way back then, so eating it turned up to be unhealthy, so saying that eating lobster is a sin was just an unconscious way of saying that eating lobster might be harmful for one's well-being. Many religious requirements (part of them proved today as silly) were actually requirements in order to stay in good health. Don't forget that smoking has been seen as devil's work even before people have fully proved its nasty consequences. It might well be the work of some kind of collective unconscious survival-preserving agency.
(well, yes, *generalized* homosexuality could endanger the survival of the human race, just like infidelity in a time with poor contraceptive means could spread lots of STDs, just like sex before wedding under the same circumstances could lead to a lot of unwanted and unhappy pregnancies; so I don't think that the Bible says stupid things,... just that it would do well with some minor upgrading:) )

No i don't eat lobster b/c its unclean to me. God laid out food we can eat and can't eat. Why do think we can do what ever we want. If we disregard the old Testament, that is basically over 60% of the bible and the New Testament refer back to the Old Testament.
Basically Lobster, shimp, pork, etc, they help clean the earth. There scavengers. Its not healthy to eat in the first place that's why Americans our over weight and have high blood pressure. If we just eat the food we are suppose to, we will be healthier than we are now.
If u eat that, u might as well eat a rat b/c rats do the same thing a pig do or what a lobster does under the sea (eat anything they can see).
Food is a big deal, it all started in the garden of Eden when Eve ate the fruit. God curse mankind b/c of that.

Very few people stick to the laws presented in the Old Testament. There is a lot of silly and bad stuff in there.
Leviticus
11:10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11:11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
11:12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
That is where the anti-lobster portion of the bible is. If you read just a bit further (Leviticus 11:13-19) you will see where the bible gives a list of fowl that are not to be eaten. It includes bats in that list. Later on, it talks about 4-legged insects and birds that walk on 4 legs. It says that people can eat beetles, but there are some beetles that are poisonous (I guess the bible did not know about those). This one part of the bible is loaded with goofy stuff.
A lot of people talk about how disgusting pigs are because of what they eat and that they live in their own waste. However, I will bet these people have never seen just how nasty a chicken can be. They will eat anything. Also, clean up the area where they roost and you will see that pigs are not the only ones that can live in their own waste. We had chickens back home and they were not penned up but a lot of them roosted in the barn at night. We had to clean it out regularly to keep the disease and pests to a minimum.

Is shrimp or pork bad to eat?
First of all they are scavengers. If you go back in the Old Testament; God distinguished what foods we should eat and which one's we shouldn't. Now if you decide too; that's your choice, but some groups don't because it's an abomination to eat anything unclean. Isn't our body the temple of God as stated in 1Cor.3:18-19? We supposed to take care of our body and be in good health (3John 1:2).
Shrimp are made to eat the garbage under the sea floor; they carry diseases too. The pig is a scavenger too; it eats the slop on the earth and if you looked under a microscope of cooked ham; you will find worms in it. You really want tricinosis and diseases and things in your body?
** TEXTS THAT INVOLVE THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS:
GEN.18:7-8; LEV.11; 20:25; DEUT.14; ISAIAH 66:17; EZEK.22:26; DAN.1:8; MATT.3:4; LUKE 24:41-43; ACTS 10:10-14; 1COR.3:16-17; 9:27; 2COR.6:17; AND REV.21:8.
----TO ME; IF THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS WEREN'T VALID FOR TODAY; THEN WHY OH WHY WOULD THE LORD PLEAD WITH FLESH NOT TO EAT UNCLEAN MEAT--(ISAIAH 66:15-17). ALSO NOTICE DEUT.14:4 "SHALT NOT EAT ANY ABOMINABLE THING" AND REV.21:8 "...THE ABOMINABLE SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH."

The eating of scavengers such as lobsters and clams is against the rules in several religions. It is a little like eating a sea going vulture.

Thank you! I wanted to ask that. Seems some people have a lobster fetish or lobster phobia. No, it's not a sin. Lobster is very tasty and is neither right or wrong unless it makes you sick or something.

Eating lobster is an abomination to the Lord -- exactly the same Hebrew word used for a man lying with a man... If homosexuality is an abomination, then eating lobster is also an abomination!

According to Dr. Ted Broer Lobster is the "cockroach" of the ocean. It is a "bottom feeder". Lobster is one of his TEN NEVER TO EAT FOODS. Check his website for more information. He is a nutritionist and a medical doctor.

It is part of the dietary laws incumbent on Jews and Jews alone. For everyone else, lobster is perfectly fine...unless one decides to rip apart a live lobster and eat it raw.

I'm not Christian but someone has latched onto some passages without the larger picture. For Christians the dietary laws in Leviticus were abolished by Paul in the NT. The theological thinking behind this is that Jesus's grace overrode the need for these laws. There are plenty of bigger holes in Christian theology than this one in my book guys.
