because one of their biggest fears is rejection, if you want him to ask you out try to make the same hints that you are interested in and eventually he will ask you out. all the guys i went out with needed hints.

it is very hard to have a man show their lady friend their true feelings..
most men are not mature enough when it comes to a relationship with a women..we are all little boys who hate to grow up..

the same reason girls do, they are scared. maybe your guy is scared you may not like him so he is testing out the waters to see if you are responding with interest
