My grandad has had Parkinson's for a number of years now but is getting progressively worse. He is now at the stage where he needs to take tablets 4x a day at different times. He often gets confused and forgets to take them. He has been told he will need someone in 4x a day for 15 mins to make sure he takes his tablets. This service is costing him £12 for 15 mins. This seems very high and i was wondering if there are any other services that offer a cheaper rate or free service?

sorry don't know about carers rates but you might find granddad will respond to regular massage to his shoulders, about the same time as his medication. this will help his muscles relax from the spasms that Parkinson's disease puts him though and give his brain some free time. good luck
