Forests are the most natural resources for man.It has immense value to the human civilization.Forests constitute about one –third of the earth’s surface.Thousands of different species of plants are found in forests.
Forests provide a rich variety of goods usefut to industries and to rural people.Forest is one of the important factor for keeping a proper environment. It prevents erosion of the soil by wind and water. Forests increase the atmospheric humidity by releasing water vapor from sub soil during transpiration. And most essentially
forests reduce the atmospheric pollution by using carbon di oxide.
In spite of all this man is destroying forests relentlessly at an alarming rate. The destruction of forests is a serious threat to the economy and environment of the country. Deforestation leads to many short term and long term effects on the environment, land masses and animal species. The main cause of deforestation is the ever increasing human population and live stock .As a result of the explosion of human population, the requirement of timber, wood, fuel, land for cropping and farming .Industrialization is also a major cause for elimination of forest areas .Development of industries such as paper industry, plywood industry which are based on forest products such as bamboos cause gradual decline in forests .Mining ,quarrying, irrigation and agriculture are also responsible for large scale deforestation .
There are many hazards caused by deforestation. Deforestation has intensified soil erosion tenfold .Loss of vegetation causes the loosening of soil which in turn causes soil erosion .
Large scale deforestation causes disastrous floods which in turn causes mass destruction of natural vegetation and loss to life and property. Deforestation destroys the natural habitats of hundreds of animals. As a result of deforestation more and more land is being converted into deserts .Deforestation leads to the deficiency of rainfall as forests cause rains. Ultimately the fertile land is converted to an unyielding piece of barren land.
Forest management and conservation processes are essential to maintain the forest in natural state .For successful curbing of deforestation causes for depletion are to be found out. Forests are generally destroyed by fire, improper cutting of trees and killing of animals .Once a forest is destroyed it takes several years to regenerate vegetation.
Hence we must do all that we can to curb deforestation to ensure a brighter and secure future for mankind .I am sure that we can abolish this evil – deforestation if we can make a joint effort not only globally but also locally in other words glocally.
I believe if all of us cooperate and follow all the measures mentioned above the word deforestation would be non-existent.
So friends let us all do our part in curbing deforestation for,” Save forests, forests will save mankind”.

Deforestation is cutting of trees for material purposes like paper , buildings fuel etc. because of this a natural habitat and water bodies are erased and the animals who depend on this gets affected or suffer, bringing down the number of species to a very low and thus indulging in the process of extinction of the species of animals & birds too. So planting of trees must be insisted without any choice and nurturing is also very essential as planting only then the purpose of cutting trees can be justified. this can also happen due to forest fires too during summer, it is impossible to water a forest during hot seasons.

my notes on deforestation
TREES NOT ONLY PRODUCE OXIGEN or ABSORB CARBON
the world bank pays large subsidies for farmers to plant trees especially a tree called Pawlomia because it is one of the better ones that capture carbon.
plants take in carbon dioxide period they dont take in oxigen at night.
they require carbon dioxide and release oxigen.
in the autemn there is an excess of carbon released because of the dead organic material ,the seas and waters when cool absorb this,in the spring when the new growth requires carbo the warmer waters release it ,so in con junction with the seas and rivers the bio mass on this planet maintains a balanced atmosphere for us to breathe.
now with the mass deforrestation(decrease in bio mass)coupled to the increase in carbon emissions, industrial chimneys, aerosol cans, motor cars, burning of plastics and tires to name but a few ,the carbon production by far exeeds what the bio-mass and the waters can handle, and so effect into global warming and the destruction of the ozone layers,
so to counter act these fatal processes we must reforrest and at the same time reduce our carbon emissions.
most governments are aware of these and many first world countries now include programs to reduce their carbon emissions.
the forrests make most of the water that we can drink or use for plant growth(sweet water)
some is condensed from the sea but that reaches only the coastel aereas .
the bulk ,comes from the forests ,and the rivers come from the rainfall which comes from the trees ,
and the trees with precipitation, feed the rivers when it is not raining and keep them running all year round.
If we kill all the trees,we kill the rivers .we kill the rain. we kill us.
the trees also absorb the heat in the day and heat up the place in the night ,so they keep the temperature confertable to live in.
these are some of the reasons why trees are important.
so plant a tree every week, and help us save the world
DESERTIFICATION
desertification is also a result of bad agricultural methods and deforrestation
in the dessert the nights are freezing cold and during the days you burn up
the sahara is growing by 7 kilometres every day.
two major desserts in northern china are growing together making one giant dessert and, causing dust storms so making thousands of people refugeese
the trees evaporate a mist which ,which protects us from the strong rays of the sun .
in the days of the dinasaurs this planet was under an aquiferus manta ,a mist that covered the entire earth ,and there were no desserts .
Count how many there are today, and all of them are as a result of mans actions.
the sahara used to be forrests
arabia ,irak ,iran used to be fertile lands in biblical times
Ghengas Kahn burned all the forrests here and filled the well with water and so turning vast lands into dessert.
the Spanish Armada deforested Spain .the Phoenician fleet deforested
Modern agriculture today is doing the same as ghengas kahn but in much bigger territories.
expanding populations deforrest to make space for settle ments
and expanding agriculture in a race to keep up with the growing demand for food deforrests more than anything else.
read a planet under stress ,plan B --by Lester E Brown.
it is in an Adobe print out as well on the net.

Deforestation means, to cut down, and clear away the trees or forests from.
Did you know, that to produce, each weeks Sunday paper, 500,000 trees must be cut down, if all our newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year! Americans use about 680 pounds of paper per person, per year.

DEFORESTATION refers the removal of trees from the forest or natural ecosystem with out the intension of reforestation it.
all removal are not considered as deforestation. if afforestation is carried out then it is not considered as deforestation.
with out cutting trees in the forest it is impossible to manage the forest.

Making sites or fields by destroying natural thick forests is de forestation. This will lead to global warming. That will lead to many diseases which culture germs, all through the year, that cause, typhoid, cholera, malaria etc.Glaciers will become dirty ponds.
