is there an external card slot that i can connect to my digital satellite receiver?

My receiver doesnt have the slot for inserting cards for viewing scrambled channels(pay channels). i need to subscribe to multichoice. is there an external card slot that i can connect to my digital satellite receiver? what is it called?

More Sat receivers are becoming card-less, I think you just call your programming provider and add it on. Go FTA - Free To Air
