Can I answer despite being a Taoist?
My religious book is The Tao Te Ching, which was written by Lao Tzu.
In reality though, it is highly unlikely that he wrote it - it is much more likely to be a collection of stories and wisdom from many different sources, that someone put together long after the man Lao Tzu exsisted. That doesn't take anything away from the wisdom of the book though, and it doesn't make it less meaningful for me.
Maybe it would be similar for Christians and Muslims? The message that Jesus and Mohammed carried would still be the same, even if they weren't quite what they are believed to be.
Thats just my take on it :) Hope I've not said anything out of turn or offended anyone, not my intention at all.

Hi
God is real and for the believers many proofs exist in this world for them.
As a Muslim all i can say is that Prophets Jesus and Mohammed were only men created by God and as guidance for the believers. They never claimed to be anything other than men made out of clay just as every other single human being. they both ate food, drank water, breathed and slept when tired.. They had blood running in their veins just like other humans and they bled when they got hurt. The prophet Mohammed also died just like other humans and his soul underwent the pangs of death. Prophet Jesus however asceneded to the heavens and will be sent again by God to fulfill his mission.
This all points to the fact that they were humans and nothing more. This is Crystal clear proof for any Muslim and doesn't need any more convincing any other way.
So your question really doesn't alarm me at all.
as i was reading the answers i noticed someone said that if faith in Mohammed was unfounded would muslims turn into peacmakers/keepers. Islam does teach peace, it is not the religion that is at fault, it is the people through greed that change their faith to suit their own whims and desires as is with Christainity. there can be no proof that Mohammed/Jesus was a liar because, if this was the case then that person or so called proof which is claiming to be Mohammed/Jesus would be the lie and would not be accepted. thats the differnece.
and its not a matter of getting off lightly as far as this question goes, the truth is the thruth no matter how we word it!!!

Several Christians have already said they would realise Christianity was false if Christ Jesus was no more than a good man. I agree with that. Christianity stands or falls on the Bible's claim that Christ had a pre-human existence as part of the Trinity and that his divine nature was combined with his human nature. Further, God raised him from the dead as proof that he was the Messiah and that he'd died sinless. If that is false, then so is Christianity.
Muslims might fee they are off the hook because they've never said Mohammed was anything other than a man. But who has faced up to your question about Jesus or Mohammed being liars? Jesus' claims about himself were such that Jews sought to stone him to death for blasphemy. If he was lying about who he really was, then he was a wicked man. If Mohammed turns out to have lied about any of his claims, the same would apply even though he never claimed to be divine. Christians, however, would not be inclined to stop being peace-makers even if Christ turned out not to be divine. They might give up trying to spread the faith, but they wouldn't go to war over it! I wonder if the Muslims would turn to being peace-makers if their faith in Mohammed was shown to be unfounded? Interesting Q. Hope a Muslim answers that point.

Both Jesus and Mohammed (peace be upon them) were normal man like us. We are human as such God, The Creator, sent another set of humans time to time to guide other human of that time. If God had sent angels then it would have been difficult for fellow human to follow the routines of angels because they two are structurally different. Both were prophets of Islam.
To God the example of Jesus’ birth is a similitude to the birth of Adam. Adam had no mom or dad. He was the first man created. In case of Jesus, he was cloned out of his mother. From human womb only human comes out not angels or something superior or inferior. Compared to us, the only exception to both of them, Jesus and Mohammed, is that they both were chosen by the Creator for the guidance of mankind.
They both taught the same thing: God= The Creator is One and the Only One, The Unique. He begets none nor is He begotten. He lives forever. He has angels to take care of different special tasks or responsibilities. They also taught to believe in all the prophets and the heavenly books revealed unto them for the guidance of mankind. They taught we all have to die but death is not the ending. There will be a dooms day, after which we all will be called upon on the Day of Judgement to account for our faith in the Creator, the Most Glorious, and for our deeds.
Quran is a proof of everything. It is the book, which reveals truth about past, present and future in a very plain way. To know what was revealed unto Jesus or on Moses or any other prophets, reading the Quran is enough because previous words have been summarised in the Quran.
Do we find any lie in Quran? No. "Over it are 19". Within this verse many miracles has been discovered with the help of modern computer analysis of the Quran. These miracles reinforce the truthfulness and the integrity of the Quran.
After all, Allah guides those who wanted to be guided and are humble in His remembrance.

Neither Jesus nor Mohammed claimed to be more than human.
Mohammed recognised Jesus as one of the great prophets (along with Moses, Isiah et. al)
Allah is just the Arabic word for God - the God of the Jews and the Christians.
Whether one is peace-loving or not has little to do with religions, which have become corrupted over the centuries. It has a lot to do with the teachings of Jesus and Mohammed - if you read a text of those teachings which has not been manipulated.

Hehehe good one, but i dont think they would even read ur comment fully before understanding and answering... Dude there is proof even now that their religions r wrong, but they r afraid to challenge it because they have been told that they will face a punishment by god. peaceful god need to punish them.. Look in Islam it says the Sun sets in a Muddy pond even then they go on, telling this world is an illusion and there is another world somewhere that they would be rewarded or happy. They dont seem to get it even that world will have to end and their God will also have to change form, well destruction is the way the Universe balances its energy... So u wont get them with this question.

Well, if there was proof as you say, that he was a man and not the son of God. Proof that he did not rise from the dead...then yes, my faith would be unfounded. Him being the son of God, sacrificed on the cross and raised from the dead, is the core of Christianity.
I would still believe in God...but I'd be waiting for the Messiah, just like the Jews are now.
St. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:17 If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.

You asked, "If there was proof and I mean REAL PROOF that Jesus was just a man and nothing more would you admit that Christianity is a false religion? "
Yes!
then I would be very very sad. I would loose a loved one. Then I also say all religion is false because i have investigated most of them and there are many holes. I have only found truth through archeology, eye witness accounts etc that Christianity is true.

If you consider that the leaders of most countries, as well as all the various religious sects, swear an oath of some kind to whichever God belongs to their particular concern, and you could provide undeniable proof that there is no such thing; do you really believe that they would let you live long enough to make fools of them all?
Look what happened to Galileo, who did believe in God, & he was by no means the only one.

That's a stupid question..... If there was Real proof that he was the son of God would you instantly convert?
If something is proven 100% without any room for question then thats it, people would have no choice but to accept it.
