I need a birthday present for my niece. She's into all of the usual girly stuff, but it doesn't necessarily need to be something girly. I would like to keep the gift in the $20-30 range (or less). Thanks.

Hi there,

My daughter just turned 4 and here are some things I know she would love.

Anything princess - she loves the dresses, shoes, crown, wand
Colouring stuff - books, crayons, washable markers
Art stuff
Dolls and accessories - bottles, beds
Playdough
Games - this age is great for games now
Disney movies
Good luck. I hope I've been of some help!

I just attended a 4 year old girl’s party last week. She got tons of dolls, such as Bratz and Barbies so I would avoid those.

I like to try and find unique gifts that won’t be duplicated. This is what I got her and she loved it! http://www.amazon.com/IlluStory-Write-illustrate-your-book/dp/0963679600
She and write and illustrate her own story and it can be sent to the company to make her own book. She can have several copies made for relatives.

Books are a great gift too. I teach preschool and kindergarten. These are some all time favorites!
There’s an Alligator Under My Bed-Mercer Mayer (anything by Mercer Mayer)
Where the Wild Things Are-Maurice Sendak (anything by Sendak as well)
Tikki Tikki Tembo-Arlene Mosel
King Biggood’s in the Bathtub-Audrey Wood
Go Away Big Green Monster-Ed Emberley
Caps for Sale-Esphyr Slobodkina
The Tub People-Pam Conrad
Hondo and Fabian-Peter McCarty

Art supplies are great to. You can find a plastic caboodle and fill it will different types of paper, child sized scissors, colored pencils, markers, crayons, stickers, glue sticks, bingo dot paint, buttons, sequins…Hours of fun!

Hope this helps!

How about a personalized book? Kids love to hear their name in the storyline. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They have lots of titles like Ballerina Princess, Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

Oh go to Libby Lu. They have a lot of girly stuff like jewelry and other fun stuff for girls. Some of it is for older girls but some fun jewelry and hair things will be fun for a girl that age!

I am a strong proponent of anything Little People. There are these entire collections, so you can go as cheap (around $5 for three figures) or as expensive ($50 or more for one of the more elaborate sets) as you would like!

If she has a favorite character you could possible get her stuff in that (i.e.- Dora, strawberry shortcake, etc.). You could also just go with something that will help her learn, books, coloring books with crayons, etc. If you don't like those two options you could go with a cute outfit! Hope some of these ideas helped!

She will probably get tons of dolls so get her something you think no one will get her.My daughter just turned 4
she loves Dora so everyone got her Dora toys.

If she's going to kindergarden in Sept.you can get her a little backpack ,and put some school supplies in it
crayons,a little note pad ,stickers.
