A straight right is your right arm straight in front of you, a right cross is you throw a punch from your right shoulder but your hand makes contact in front of your LEFT shoulder, it crosses your body.

Correct, a straight right is delivered straight out as in the classic "one-two". A right cross is delivered a little more from the right side as when you slip or bob to the right of an opponets left then deliver the right cross with a little more hip turn since you have slightly more weight on your right side. Hip movement is similar to that of a hook but the punch is delivered straight and come at a slight diagonal angle across your body. It is a great counter to a lazy left jab or when you get your left foot near or outside your opponents front foot; usually up and over the opponents left.

straight right is delivered by the right hand going straight out from the body, usually to the left side of the opponent. A right cross is one that crosses over the body diagonally, and usually hits the opponent on their right hand side.

Overhand right is of no use unless most time. The straight right is there faster so it is the primary weapon. The overhand right is good against someone who throws a slow jab or a jab always in the same rhythm. You can launch the overhand right over the jab. It is a tool used at the right time but never a primary weapon.

I believe that a straight right is one you see coming but cannot avoid it and a right cross is the one that gets you when you should avoid it because you are too slow. Thwack!
