Hands down without a doubt, nothing can compare to the Original Ray's Pizza. I see that one person already gave you quite an extensive list of all the Rays. I have traveled quite a bit to Manhatten, while in law school, I have traveled again 20 years later as an adult with grown up taste. All I can tell you is that the original Ray's Pizza is still by far the very best pizza in all of the world.
Now when I visited manhatten with an old boyfreind who lived out on Long Island in Roslyn, he took me to a specific Rays as did another friedn of mine from queens, i think it was called Ray Combs, i am not sure about the last word but it definatley starts with a c and soundls like combs on cones. Ask a native and they can tell you which Ray are the authentic ones and which ones are just a franchise tourist place. All are very good, assum, iong you like true new york pizza, or "pie" as they call it there. Lets go to Rays and get a slice of pie. or when you order "I;ll take two slices of cheese pie, and a whole pie to go.
it is flat, so super thin, and the suace is so good . You have me craving it right now

DiFara's on Avenue J and East 14th Street in the Midwood section of Brooklyn; Totonno's on Neptune Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn (one block from the Stillwell Avenue station), L&B Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn on 886th Street, Lombardi's on Spring Street in Soho, Joe's Pizza on Carmine near Bleecker, Arturo's on Houston and Thompson and Patsy's in East Harlem on First Avenue and 117th Street.
Staten Island is a great place for good pizza - Nunzio's pizza is excellent.

You'll have to travel to Long Island for that. My favorite is Aegean Pizza in Holbrook. Been eating there for 20 years. Best pizza pie....order well done. They tend to under cook.

Ray's lol most are mediocre. My vote goes to Arturo's on Houston. Never been to Lombardi's, it has a good rep. And Pizza 33 on 33rd and 3rd has a real good plain slice.

All those answers are crap.
Go to Staten Island. I know it's crazy. But go to Denino's or Brother's Pizza on Staten Island. It's pizza made by italians.

There's this place near Coney Island... can't remember the name, but the pies were awesome. Hang on, let me look it up. It began with a T. Ah, here it is: Totonno's.
Of course, in the city there's Lombardi's and that coal oven!
