I am trying to get her to the vet, but they are booked today. Will cranberry juice help her feel more comfortable or do I need to ruch her to the Emergency Vet?

Take her to another vet. It's not an emergency, but it needs to be looked at right away. Explain to them the situation, and they should get you in right away.

No cranberry juice for dogs! Just lots of water to keep flushing out her urinary tract. She will need antibiotics from the vet. If you can't get her to your vet, get her to one that can see her today. I don't think you need emergency vet care, but definitely call around for a vet that can see her today.

My dog had a UTI. The vet will test her urine for bacteria (note: the sample must be FRESH) and prescribe an antibiotic. If you get it addressed quickly she will be fine. If not it may progress to a more serious kidney infection.

Another thing, with a UTI she may piddle all over the place...this is not her fault! She can't help it, as this is the UTI symptoms not bad behavior. Don't punish her for these accidents and make sure you can get her outside for frequent potty breaks, which she will need drinking more water.

Try to get her on the antibiotics ASAP, and good luck to you!

No, No cranberry juice!
Get her to a vet that can see her. This is a very painful thing for a pup but not uncommon.
Just let her drink plenty of water and she may piddle everywhere because she can't control her bladder because of the infection.

If you can get to an emergency vet it will be better for the pup and ease your mind.

Just offer lots of water to help flush out the bladder until you can get to the vet for antibiotics. Its not necessarily an emergency, but it is very uncomfortable.

they can't work her in to see her????? I think i'd change vets, but yes, she needs to get in to see the vet......they'll more than likely give her an antibiotic to get rid of the UTI....poor little pup:(

HOW DO U KNOW IT HAS UTI? WAS THE PUP ALREADY DIAGNOSED? EITHER WAY, I WOULD TAKE THE PUP TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. UTI CAN BE REALLY PAINFUL. IF U LOVE UR PET ENOUGH TO WANT TO RELIEVE IT'S PAIN AND DISCOMFORT IMMEDIATELY U SHOULD TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT AWAY.
