How do you know this women is really pretending? Is it possible that you want her to be acting like she doesn't want you because you want her and you are afraid she really doesn't, like she says. Has she said no to you or someone else? A relationship is not always our first priority, we have goals that come to us at different times, those come first before a guy that could let us down. I feel that a relatioship has plenty of benefits, but unless it can really fit into my life I will let it wait. Maybe she is the same, or maybe not, nonetheless it sounds like you need to let the option that she is not pretending about wanting a relationship, maybe she doesn't want one right now, or maybe she doesn't want you. There are somethings you can spend forever pretending they're true, but somethings have hidden meanings and in this case there are alot of possibilities. Good luck

Yes, some women are pretenders.
Yes, most women seek a relationships above all else but seeking with that frame of mind turns into neediness. Yes, there are plenty of those gals around.
You start believing the pretense if you do it well enough for long enough.......or even if you don't do it well.

Me?...Pretense is not my thing. I live life to the fullest, quite consciously Thankyou :)

Are you assuming that every woman that says she does not want a relationship is actually lying? Some women may lie about it, but certainly not all. I am not interested in having any relationship right now because I'm busy building my career, and I don't have time to worry about someone else. Relationships are work - I don't think it's unreasonable to believe someone doesn't want that at some point in their life.

Well, I've always had one so I guess I don't know the answer. I mean, we've broke up and then I found someone else but I've never been alone for an extended period of time. I really rather just date people so I don't have to have that committment thing going until I find Mr. Right.

Well, around my parents I pretend I don't want a boyfriend...otherwise they will think I am boy-crazy and become extremely overprotective...but all my friends knew I wanted a boyfriend. I would never pretend otherwise except around my parents. For some reason, I'm not happy unless I have a guy in my life, it's soooo weird, it's like I'm not complete w/o one. Yes I know pretty lame/sad. Ohhhh well.

maybe that person truly doesn't want a boyfriend at that time. maybe her life is full and she don't have time for one or maybe she is getting over a hurtful relationship. no matter what the circumstance if she says keep your distance it's probably wise to do just that.

I was wondering the same thing. This one girl told me she doesn't have a boyfriend and doesn't want one. However she flirts with me like crazy. Want to ask her out, but kind of scared lol.

They could if you are trying to get with her. She may just be telling you that she is in a relationship because she doesn't want to have one.
