Some of us do both and take care of our families, have jobs, are involved in Church and our children's schools, the PTA. Why would you think that praying should not be a part of our lives?
May God Bless you.

charity work is nice. But one must remember to be charitable to His Lord as well in the same way we should keep a relation with our friends.
You cannot not tell me to pray. I do charity work everyday. Prayer is a fundamental life of any person who believes in God. It is not true that the time spent in prayer is wasted because it is spent not just asking for things, It is also used for other purposes. It can also be used to intercede for another person which in itself is charitable.
Yo, if you need more info i suggest you go here:
Just pop in the question and you will get a complete answer. Plus the members are very prayerful and kind, and charitable themselves. so dont be afraid to ask

Im sorry if my post is not as complete as I want it to be. I am a bit busy with some stuff which is why i recommend the forum. Dont be afraid if your not Catholic. They are very tolerable people and they won't be mad if you pop this question.
God Bless,

You are right. Charity is important. I dont know about Christianity but in Islam you have to pay charity and there is lot of emphasis on charity work. But the prayers in Islam are important. They bring you closer to God. You learn self discpline and control. You become balanced and moderate in life.

prayer is a form of charity since you are praying for others (after worshipping God of course). If I gave up my 5 prayers *I* wouldn't be a better person and as a result the world wouldn't be better off either.

well religion is all about being a good person. and doing charity is a part of being a good person don't you think? so when we do charity we would be helping ourselves be better people and therefore being a good example for our religion.

A lot of Christians do both. Some are unable to do anything but pray, which helps a lot.
