The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve were the first people God created. It doesn't say they were the only people God created.
God bless,

I guess in a way we are. But this doesn't mean to go and sleep with your sister. See Adam and Eve were the first people and God told them to populate the world so they did. So there kids married each other and so on. So see in God's family we are all brothers and sisters.

If a writer writes a book and an editor edits it, but fails to mention that although it takes place in let's say... Red Hook NY.
Does that mean that because these were the ONLY characters mentioned in the book, that these were the only people in the entire city of Red Hook?
Nope... I don't think it does.
They were the first and only inside the Garden... as documented, it never said anything about the only people period.
You gotta think outside the box... Or the garden in this case.

There were several tribes around after Adam and Eve's first two children were born, so God was obviously busy making more people. God knew that two humans would not be enough to populate the world. He also must have been busy making animals, because...how would there have been so many sheep for Adam to herd when they left the garden?

It had to have been brother-sister. But at that time the gene pool wasn't so messed up. By the time the law was given, God had laws against close relatives marrying, with the exception of cousins. Apparently there's no trouble with that in His eyes.

If you actually read the Bible instead of listening to everyone else's take on it, It says that Adams sons took wives from other lands. As was said above, Adam and Eve were created first, but God also inhabited other lands with humans. Incest was not the "dawn of man". Read and learn.

Nope, it says Cain found a wife in the land of Nod, which has been loosely translated as meaning "no man's land" or "nomad's land." Just because Adam and Eve were first doesn't mean they were the only.

Most Christians do not believe that the story of Adam and Eve is a literal one. See below for an explanation of this:

Let the Bible speak:
Ge 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living
Adam and Eve were brother and sister. Do not brothers and sisters have the same father?
Cain got his wife where you got yours: "courtin"

That is why there are some things about the Bible that can't be taken at face value.
I asked the same thing to leaders of different churches and most agreed that Incest was an accepted practice then.
