A Bass tube, adds more bass. They usually take up a lot of space but could add that bass you are looking for.

the point of a bass tube is to you give you bass, without having to put a giant box in your trunk. there idle for people with small cars like hatchbacks and trucks, where putting a couple of 12" speakers in just isnt practicle. personally i dont like bass tubes. they dont sound good, and most of them have 8" subs, which 8"s are more for mids then lows. if your looking into them, i would highly recomend finding your local Pioneer Premier dealer, and listening to one of there shallow mount subs. there only 4" deep, and sound just as good as a normal woofer. its very wierd, one of those things you have to see to believe.

good luck

"They usually take up a lot of space..." WHAT?!?!? ok

Bass tubes are usually smaller then their encolsure counterparts, but produce less bass. They are for the space constrianted as they will fit most anywhwere.
