Punjabi language in speaking is same, but in writing it is different in Indian and Pakistani part of Punjab Province.
Now you have to decide which one you want to learn.

go and live in Chandigar India, (capitol of Punjab) for a few years. It takes a while to get to know punjabi. Its a real fun language, seriously, the best jokes are in Punjabi. You may want to start with Hindi first, easier route.
