I've been using iMovie for some time now...and every time I create a slideshow, iMovie automatically zoomes towards the picture. There nothing to change in the preferences and no zoom editing at all. I just want to picture to be on the screen without iMovie zooming in. Can anyone help?

You need to turn off the Ken Burns effect. How you do that depends on the version of iMovie you're using.

On the photos panel there's a check box for the KB effect. You can also alter the effect, changing the speed, direction of pan, and start and end points.

Once you turn it off or change it, you need to apply it to the photos you've already put in. It's easier to do it before you put the photos into your project.

What you call "zooming" is the Ken Burns effect :-)

This can be turned off as follows:
on the right side of the monitor you can choose between "audio" and "photo (or pictures)". If you choose pictures then you will see thumbnails of the pictures you can insert into the movie.
Once you select a picture you see it is displayed in the main window on the left. There is a preference pane appearing on the picture itself in that part of the screen. There is a box next to "Ken Burns effect" that you will have to untick.
After that all pictures should be imported without this effect.

Hope it helped :-)
