As ive already said we have been friends for over 9 years and he is really special to me!! The other day i just looked at him and realised that the feelings i have for him are more than a friendship and i want to be with him!! The way he looks at me sometimes and the way he acts around me makes me think he feels the same and he is scared like me and wont act on it incase we lose our special friendship. But im in such a muddle as i dont know how he feels and i dont know how to approach this issue. Please anyone who can offer some sort of advice please do help me!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

erm i think you should play abit, by saying to him that you saw someone you think you fancy and are going out later with him. you might wanna look at his reactions. maybe you could ask "or would you wanna do something together?" dunno if it help lol 9 years is alot, and im sure by now you can say anything stupid and not offend the other. so maybe you could ask him out, but make it as a joke lol try something different init. tc xx

After 9 years surely you know each other well enough to talk it out frankly & openly about the confused feelings you both seem to have. The only way, because only the 2 of you know what is causing the problem. You will be surprised how many issues got overblown simply because the concerned parties are not 100% honest with each other about their true feelings or worries.

i had a friend for 21 years and then i realised I had feelings 4 him..i got the courage to tell him and he told me that had been n love wih me for about 10 years secretly but he had got over it and did not want to lose our friendship....it hurt and made it uncomfortable between us...I have since got Married and he came to the wedding which was wonderfull it made my day perfect and we still talk on the net and by text but we are not as close as we used to be...if i could turn back time i would have never have said a word.

My advise: keep the friendship!!

Most relationships start out as friendships, but be careful because, depending on your friendship, most relationships don't end in friendships. If I were you I would find out for sure what his feelings are and talk about them. Just because two people care about each other doesn't mean that they are right to date each other, but it could work out. Follow your heart and good luck.

. If he uses Yahoo answers guide him to the question then you get your answer without actually voicing it, therefore no break in the friendship and no embarrassment.
Or use the old way talk hypothetically about another friend you have who is having this problem and watch his reaction.
