Just so you know: They will NEVER stop ringing you if you don't sign up for a membership!!! I did the 2 week thing because I was on vacation to the USA and wanted to just have a place to exercise for free for 2 weeks. When I returned back to Europe they called my relative at least 50 times wanting to see if I was still interested. It is insane!!! My relative was not too happy about it either.

Good luck!

I did the two week thing at Bally's. It had an indoor track, pool, and hot tub. I loved it but did not want to sign a committment. I had a choice of paying $19 but only getting to exercise on 3 chosen days of the week without signing a deal, or sign a 3 yr deal and pay $19 a month but exercise whenever I want, but only at that gym. I chose this option even though you can have local access to any gym in the area for a higher fee. Now I pay exactly $18.27 each month and although I don't work out as often as I would like due to my hectic schedule, I believe this plan was more flexible. And since I am being forced to pay, I force myself to work out so the money doesn't go to waste. Hope this helps!

When you go, do not bring your check book or credit card, leave them home. You will get a sales pitch, some Ballys' it will be pretty intense. Like the first person said, if you do not sign up after the two weeks, you'll be called & called & called. If you haven't given them your phone number yet, give a fake one. Do not give them any of your friends, relatives names or numbers either. Also, when nearing the end of your two weeks, you'll start getting more "attention". Not sure about buying someone elses membership.
